CENTER OF ECONOMY - FAMILY OR COMPANY?

There are two types of economy prevailing in the world. There is a family in the center of one type of economy. Entire economy is based on families. Agricultural land holding, say 10 to 15 acres may be owned by a family which will be sustaining on that land. Similarly entire land is distributed in various families in such a way that each family has a land which it can cultivate. All people will be owner of land. Nobody will be laborer without land. In case of animal husbandry also, each family will have cows, sheeps, goats etc in so much number that one family can look after them and that family can sustain on it. Business and profession other than agriculture such as blacksmith, carpenter, shoe maker, pot maker, cloth weaver etc are also family centered and they work themselves to sustain their families. All are owners of their profession, no labourer, no servants. Even traders and merchants also work themselves without any servant and earn some income from trading and sustain their family. If somebody has no land and if he has to work on somebody else's land as a labourer, it is a defect of social economy. Ideally everybody is owner and nobody is servant. This should be the ideal system in well organized society.

This family centered economy can be named as Swadeshi Economy or Localized Economy also. Throughout the world wherever industrialization has not reached, this family centered economy is still prevailing everywhere. This family centered economy is working satisfactorily since many centuries and people have lived peacefully. In this framework, production is local for local consumption. So element of trade is negligible. So no transport at distant places. So no need or very negligible role of transport vehicles such as trucks, steamers, railways, highways, cities etc. So in family centered economy, there is no scope of exploitation. World lives with peace and morality.

Second type of economy which has emerged since last 200 years and spread to entire world has big big monstrous companies at the center of economy. No any person is owner of anything there. Ownership is wasted in big companies and all the people working in the company are the employees of the company. Company owns large farms of thousands of acre. Such many large farms owned by only one giant company. Thousands of people toil their labor in the farm. They are simply laborers. Big big factories are established which are owned by big companies. For primary necessity of people also, big centralized factories. For example, for flour milling, bread making, sugar making, oil milling, electricity generation etc giant factories making huge production. So huge distribution network is required to reach millions of people. For this, transport equipments such as trucks, steamers, railways are required for which also giant factories owned by giant companies. Everything owned by big companies.
People simply work for their bread labour in the companies. Huge power houses run by coal. So huge companies for coal mining. Huge companies for coal transporting. Huge companies for power generation and power distribution. Millions of people work in the companies for earning their subsistence. Huge capital is required for huge factories. So huge financing companies and banks which lend the huge capital. Huge companies for share market and collecting money from people. So entire economy is company centered. No family is in this picture.

But what is the company then? It is not an living creature. It is just a legal fiction created on paper. But it is considered as legal person which never dies. So it can live for centuries. People die but company does not die. Company is not living element. It has no soul in it. So it has no heart. So it has no feelings, no compassion, no mercy. So company is one type of monster which has no soul, no heart, no feeling and it is always eager to suck your blood. To earn maximum profit even mercilessly is its objective. So entire economy is controlled by such giant merciless monsters who employ millions and millions of people simply as laborer. This is company centered economy.

Now every person can understand easily that where entire economy is controlled by merciless monsters, millions of people will be exploited only. As against this, there is no scope of exploitation at all in family centered economy. Company centered economy resorting to huge centralized production of everything and hence huge transport system, natural resources are misused recklessly. There is no much transport in family centered economy. So it is quite economical, so environment friendly with no wastage at all. In company centered economy, handful of people become too much wealthy and vast majority are hand to mouth. So huge disparity in society.
Company centered economy promotes large cities where millions of people are living. So water shortage is created. Rivers become gutters and air is polluted and leads to global warming. Family centered economy is rural oriented and lifestyle is natural and people will live with peace and satisfaction. Company centered economy is Oil Based Economy and is quite temporary as fossil fuels in the world will be exhausted in few decades. But family centered economy is Soil Based Economy and hence is permanent. Company centered economy is based on untruth, falsehood, betrayal, deception, fraud and worldwide plunder. So it drags the world to world war. While family centered economy is based on truth, love, kindness, justice and so it leads to world peace. In everyway family centered economy is beneficial to the society, while company centered economy exploits the entire society and disturbs the peaceful lifestyle.

Family centered economy has so many advantages and company centered economy has so many disadvantages and danger points. But still almost all the governments of the world are implementing the policies to promote the company centered economy and to abolish family centered economy. Its reason is that all the governments of the world are attracted to the development which Europe and America have done in last century such as huge cities with magnificent buildings, highways, roads, attractive cars, airplanes, telephones, internet, electricity and many instruments of human luxury. All these have been developed with company centered economy. So fascinated with this development, all the governments want to become disciples of USA and go to the path of Europe and America considering USA as their Guru. So they follow the advice of USA and USA sponsored World Bank, IMF and WTO and try to cast their economies in company centered economy. As a result, villages have been ruined and sucked to skeleton and poverty has spread to 4 Billion people.

Following this path, there are 3 suicidal blunders which all governments are committing.

First suicidal blunder:
is that so called developing countries i.e poor countries are following the path of USA and Europe which is not applicable to them. Europe and America has exploited the entire world. Their development is through world plunder. Poor nations cannot exploit the entire world. Economy of Europe and America is breaking even though they had the opportunity to suck the entire world and we will see within 30 years time that their economy is ruined. So to follow the path of USA is simply suicidal. It will positively result in slavery and increase in poverty.

Second suicidal blunder:
common masses of Europe and America have not prospered. They are simply economic slaves of big companies. They are miserable. Only big companies have prospered and accumulated big wealth. So prosperity of big companies is not the prosperity of common people. This fact is forgotten and is not brought to the under developed countries. Common people are hand to mouth. They are not at all happy. Most of the common people are debtors paying huge interest for their credit cards. So it is illusion to understand that people of Europe and America are prosperous people. Only handful of companies are prosperous and not the people.

Third suicidal blunder:
This is applicable to India specifically but more or less to all countries.
We do not realize that we have a full capacity to develop all the equipments of luxurious happiness such as cars, electricity, phones, computers, balloons and planes at very small scale level, in rural areas, with better quality, in a economical way, without wasting any resources, at cheaper rate by keeping our family centered economy intact. There is a wide spread lack of self-confidence and faith in ourselves. We can make tiny biomass thermal power plants at every farm and at every village and further develop tiny solar thermal power plants of 5 to 10 Kw capacity wherever we need power. Once all technical books are published in all regional languages, all such gadgets will be made by people themselves and will achieve the highest height of prosperity without any government help, provided that harassment is not done from the government.

In this situation we should not imitate Europe and America. It is imperative for us to protect our ancient culture and rural lifestyle. We can enrich it by producing the equipments of comfort and remove drudgery from our life. Thus we can create happy rural India which will also result in happy urban India automatically.

Once we manufacture 5 to 10 KW power plants at every farm and at every village, we can develop small scale family size rural industries such as grain grinding, rice milling, jaggery making, oil extraction, cotton ginning, cotton spinning, cloth weaving, lime and cement making and many types of basic necessity industries for the happy and prosperous life. So without any big industry we can become far happier than Europe and America. Out of all such industries, power generation industry is the key to development. You can not enjoy freedom and happiness if you do not have your own power. You must not be dependent on electricity or diesel for your farm or village. You can produce your own power by burning biomass or wood in the boiler and produce steam which will drive steam engine which again will run your water pump for irrigation or tiny oil mill for crushing oilseeds, or rice huller or sugarcane crusher or alternator for getting electricity. Then diesel prices may go 10 times higher or electricity rates may go up 20 times, you are not affected at all. This is real freedom.

INDIA OF MY DREAM

Gandhiji had forecasted that India's future will be bright. Then 70 years have already gone but India's future is becoming more and more gloom. Gandhiji also forecasted that to industrialize India in the same sense of Europe is IMPOSSIBLE. But our government and our leaders have tried their best to industrialize India in the same sense of Europe and achieved dangerous disparity, more poverty, more unemployment, more starvation, more slavery, more crimes and more unrest everywhere. So the path followed by our governments and our leaders must be immediately abandoned and path suggested by Gandhiji should be immediately followed. Government may not be able to change the policy very quickly. But people should immediately adopt policy preached by Gandhiji. Gandhiji strongly advocated Swadeshi economy in every sphere of life. This can be achieved through home scale and family size industries for all basic needs of the people. So where ever cotton is grown, it should be ginned there and there, it should be spinned there and there and it should be weaved there and there. So we should develop simple and cheap home scale and village scale technology for making cloths into villages. For this purpose 2 crores of spinning machines of 10 to 20 spindles must be developed for home scale spinning. It will be driven by solar panels which is now available abundantly and it has become affordable also. All pre processing machines from ginning to spinning should be developed and modern spinning technology of textile mills must be decentralized up to home scale level. India has enough infrastructure and men power of textile engineers to achieve this goal in 10 to 15 years. So entire lint cotton production of 600 crore kg must be turned in to final cloth – 3600 crore sq mt in homes and villages by using solar photovoltaic power. So there will be availability of 30 sq mt cloth per head which can not be consumed by the people.

(1 crore = 10 million)

So there will be lot of export from Sovereign Village Republics directly. There should not be any bale binding or bale breaking. All textile spinning mills of present day must collapse and die their natural death. Entire textile manufacturing business must be decentralized in to 3 to 4 crores homes in villages. Similarly entire production of sugarcane - 35 crores tonnes- must be processed in sugarcane farms locally into best quality jiggery or directly consumed for juice drinking. All sugar mills of the present day must collapse and die their natural death. About 4 lakh jiggery units working in the farms will produce 5 crore tonnes of jiggery which will be enough for entire India plus 150 other countries. Similarly, 20 crores tonnes of paddy must be processed into rice in the farms it self through 3 lakh rice hullers driven by steam engines which will use rice husk as fuel and will become independent from grid power or diesel supply. Per capita availability of rice will be about 160 kg which can never be consumed by people. So there will be huge export of rice from Sovereign Village Republics directly. Present day all big rice mills must collapse and die their natural death. Similarly 3 crores tonnes of oil seeds must be processed into edible oil through 3 lakhs tiny oil mills and 2 lakh oil Ghanis in villages. Per capita availability of edible oil will be 8 kg which should be tolerated for a while but no import of edible oil should be allowed. Farmers should get higher rates of their oil seeds and in 2 to3 years time there will be surplus production of oil seeds if oil is not imported at all. Entire cement production of present day say 150 crore tonnes must be decentralized through 6 lakhs tiny cement plants of 1 tonne capacity established at a lime stone sites so that there is no transport of limestone at all. So per family availability of cement will be about 5 tonnes per family which will be enough for constructing simple homes everywhere. So in 10 years time, every family will have its own decent home built from very cheap cement produced in villages.

Solar energy has come as a God's blessing to the people. 2 crores of solar pumps from 1 KW to 10 KW can be installed in most of the farms for water pumping which will run various agro processing industries in the farms itself when irrigation is not required. So practically cotton ginning, cotton spinning, cloth weaving, oil milling, rice hulling, sugarcane crushing etc will be done by solar panels when irrigation is not required. Moreover tiny steam power plants will work on surplus biomass in farms and villages for electrifying the villages at night.  Wind energy also can play vital role to provide home electricity in 10 crore homes. There is a huge scope of 1 crore tiny wind turbines not costing more than Rs. 10000/- to 20000/-. Similarly surplus rice husk after processing paddy into rice can provide electricity to 6 crore homes. So only through renewable energy sources, India can sustain easily. So each Sovereign Village Republic will be power independent and grid power will not be required. However for present cities, present thermal power plants may work for next 20 years until surplus power of SVRs may not be sufficient to sustain our cities. But planning must be such that in 20 years of time all giant thermal power plants and all nuclear power plants must collapse and die their natural death. No import of petroleum should be allowed. Transport must be reduced to 10% of present transport. So petroleum produced by our country also should remain surplus. Nothing should be imported. But many things will be exported by our half a million SVRs. So in 5 years time, Rupee will be equivalent to dollar and in 10 years time it must become 10 times higher than dollar. So we must regain our ancient glory to make India most prosperous and happiest county of the world. No any student will go to Europe, America or Australia for education. Thousands of students will come to India from all over the world to learn Swadeshi technology, our culture, our religion, our languages and our life style. So I am looking huge technological revolution on the horizon. For engineers and technocrats huge opportunities are opening. Those who envisage it, have fortunes to earn, have great opportunity to serve our nation, and serve the humanity through our nation.

How I Manage My Business

I jumped in to business in 1982 at the age of 40 years with pure motive to develop and disseminate rural technology. I imbibed all inspirations from the books of Mahatma Gandhi. He asserted that ALL THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION OF PRIMARY NEEDS OF PEOPLE MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF COMMON MASSES. To make available such production machines, I started this activity. I never imagined that I will get a lot of money from it. Just to sustain my family was only objective. I had a little saving of Rs 50000/- (US$1000). My father had roughly Rs 150000/- which was invested in construction of show room. Before starting business I vowed and decided certain principles to follow in the business.

I will not do any business which ultimately results into exploitation of poor masses and enriching the rich people. I will not do any business which ultimately results into urban development. I will do such business which increases the wealth of rural people and reduces the wealth of rich urban people.

I will not borrow single Rupee from bank or other sources. So I will not pay single Rupee interest to anybody.

I will not hire any premises so that I have not to pay any rent to anybody.

I will not go out of my office to sell my products.

I will not deliver my product to anybody without taking 100 % payment in advance or against delivery.

I will not do any business or manufacturing activity out of Rajkot city.

I will not invest any money in machinery. I will sub contract my manufacturing products to other factories on job work basis.

I will not produce any item on which Central Excise is collected by the government. It simply enslaves the producers.

With the above limitations, I started TINYTECH PLANTS as private limited company. I thought out the concept of TINY OIL MILL which can provide cooking oil to one village, studied similar available machines, designed some machines altogether new and started my activity. I got made wooden patterns for components, got casted in foundries, got it machined in machine shops, fabricated equipments by welding and started selling complete Tiny Oil Mills which is now running successfully since 32 years. So far we have exported our Tiny Oil mills into 86 countries. Day to day affairs of this business is now managed by my son Gopal. Still I have no any mass production machinery of heavy investment.

In 2002, at the age of 60 years, I started new company AADHUNIK GLOBAL ENERGY for manufacturing renewable energy equipments in which I have successfully developed Tiny Steam Power Plants up to 40 HP-20 KW for rural electrification, steam engines up to 70 HP, parabolic solar cookers for homes and communities, light weight portable Bio Gas plants, small wind turbines for homes, Solar Concentrators and so on. Recently I have also developed solar water pumps for irrigation. At present I am successfully exporting tiny power plants and renewable energy equipments. I have not printed any literature of any renewable product just to save paper. My web site contains all the details. I have not spent anything on advertisement for renewable energy products with a few exceptions. Most of my business is generated by hearty correspondence with sincere feelings with the aim to disseminate tiny technology to replace big industries. Earning money is not primary motive. I feel that this is the right way of business. More and more I realize that expensive pompous office is not required to impress and to attract customers. Only pure heart and transparent honesty works well everywhere. So I am contented with 30 years old table in my office and 10 years old car which I hope to use it up to end of my life.

We never have driver for our cars. A lot of people come to meet me from foreign countries and from India to discuss with me about rural development. We sit at office, home or at my small factory in a plastic chairs without any pomp where hardly 6 to 7 persons are working. I mostly invite all foreign guests at my home for lunch and dinner for which credit goes to my wife and my son’s wife Sharmila for taking care of all the guests with delicious vegetarian meals. It creates a lot of intimacy, transparency and frankness and it creates business. This can be ideally called Home Scale Business Management. I take every care not to grow my company bigger. Factory staff is kept below 10 so that Factory Act and dreadful repressive labour laws imposed in the name of socialism are not applicable which simply enslaves the manufacturers by the government. We have 3 factories without any mass production machinery of heavy investment except routine workshop machinery such as lathe, drilling machine, hacksaw machine, grinders, hydraulic press, welding machines etc which are required for R&D activity. This is situation in all the 3 factories. As activity increases, we find out suitable small machine shops and small fabricators to whom we teach how to make our products and components and sub contract them manufacturing.

I am of the view that big companies are formed simply for robbing the common masses. I am of the view that management taught in management schools is simply the management of mismanagement. I am of the view that economics taught in universities is fabricated for robbing the world and it makes a lot of harm to common masses. It is not necessary for the happy life of the society.

I have already proved that even one person can act globally. Tiny enterprise run by a family can be globally famous. So far we have sent roughly 1500 consignments in 110 countries.

I am of the view that really good products necessary to society should not require costly advertisements. So I do not spend anything on advertisement with some exceptions.

I am of the view that craze for money compels us to do many mischiefs and misdeeds.

So we should discard the craze for money making and we should concentrate to discharge our duty towards humanity. Then money comes automatically. But we should be indifferent to it.

I really enjoy my business and never get tired. I hope to run my business up to end of my life. Idea of retiring is senseless. If we do not find interest in our activity, there is something basically wrong in it. If we find interest, why should we retire from it? I do not require any extra entertainment. I never watch TV. I hate it. I never see cinema. I never go to hotels. Though I have traveled in to 30 countries, I never travel without any good benevolent purpose. My business is my life mission.
